A game too far
Chris Walker narrowly failed to become the first qualifier ever to win the
British Open. After a spectacular run to the final he was 2-0 up against
David Palmer before the old Green Magic finally started to wear out. No such
problems for Sarah though. It wasn't all plain sailing - her semi
with Leilani was a thriller, rated by many as one of the best women's
matches ever. Sarah relaxed by taking the
WISPA roadshow to Kenya.
The thong's the thing
Blanket coverage for squash in the national newspapers - surely not. All it
took was Vicky Botwright to threaten to play in a thong and all hell broke
loose ...
Super Stuff
Peter Nicol recovered from a shock British Open exit to claim the Super
Series title once again. Match of the tournament was again a semi-final,
with live TV audiences thrilled by Palmer v Power - not classic squash, but
a real spectacle, with one of the great rallies to close it out 15-14 in the
fifth.
