Quite Quiet
A fairly quiet month for the top men, although Thierry Lincou gave notice of great things to come, winning in Chicago. A strong Munich Open saw Sarah Fitz-Gerald still going strong.

Squash made the world press in a big way this month though, when World Champion Peter Nicol first  announced his intention to 'defect' from Scotland to England, and later confirmed the shock move. Full story

Several tournaments were deferred or cancelled, including the Irish Open (foot and mouth), Queens Cup (funding) and Hurghada (TV scheduling). A portent of things to come later in the year ...

Nicol drops one ...
Somehow Jonathon Power deposed Peter Nicol at the top of the world rankings, denying England a world number one, and somehow Fitz-Gerald remained at three.

Damain Walker wins the men's, while Shabana beats Latasha Khan in thw women's final.
Munich Open
Sarah Fitz-Gerald's comeback looks to be complete, as another set of 3-0 wins culminate in an easy win over Leilani.
DMC Open
This time it's Rachael's turn, as Grinham beats Nicol David in the Toronto final.
