Story of the Month Pictures of the Month The Winners
World Open Off
The worst kept secret in squash is finally let out of the bag - the World Open is 'postponed'.  Hopes were raised with a rescue bid that proved to be another Indian hoax. Looks like Peter Nicol will continue to reign until the end of 2002 - there will be four women's world opens since his win in 1999 ...

And the rest ...
The brave new face of squash started to fall apart at the seams, with WISPA severing links with Fablon (and announcing a record prize fund for the year), the SRA in legal action, and the PSA Grand Prix left in limbo.

You heard it here first
The YMG Capital Classic heralded a first, with live commentary on all matches broadcast on the internet, leaving commentator Alan Thatcher hoarse for days afterwards.

The Comeback kids
Jonathon Power staged two incredible comebacks in Toronto, but Peter Nicol finally resisted to win, while John Nimick rescheduled the US Open for January.

And then there were ten
Jansher Khan and Michelle Martin became the latest members of the WSF Hall of Fame, swelling the ranks to ten all-time greats.

Elma McSherry
Elma McSherry sadly passed away at home in Scotland.
"She was one of the special people of Squash - bright, vibrant, committed and totally dedicated to the sport," said WSF Chief Executive Ted Wallbutton.
